Virtual Laboratories

DUAA offers Augmented / Virtual Reality-based (Math, Science) Labs and learning environments to help improve activity-based learning. Technology in the classroom is far more than just Google searches and Apps. It encompasses all aspects of education, including Science experiments. Virtual laboratories are emerging worldwide in school systems and online learning curricula, making it easier and less expensive for students to conduct experiments remotely.

Here are a few advantages of virtual labs:

  1. Accessibility: The ability to learn at the student's convenience and when they know best is perhaps the most frequently stated benefit of online learning. Virtual laboratories give more flexible time to students because resources are not limited.

  2. Real-time feedback: While engaged in critical thinking mode, students can redo experiments on the spot. They can document findings, which helps teachers and students communicate more effectively. Experiments no longer have a "one chance" option, and students can instantly assess what went wrong and try again.

  3. High-quality equipment: When it comes to experimentation, schools and students who use virtual laboratories have access to cutting-edge technology. Companies that construct and manage virtual labs must compete to keep ahead of technological advancements, which improves the quality of alternatives available to students. In addition, students do not have to settle with old, yet expensive, equipment because a school cannot afford to replace it regularly with a virtual lab.

Like all classroom technology, virtual laboratories must be scrutinized to ensure their fundamental objective is met beyond the dazzling possibilities. Of course, this will require some time and testing, but I believe it is achievable with the correct mix of in-person and online sessions.
